Personal PropertyEvery Ohio County resident is required by law to file an annual Personal Property Assessment form by the first day of October each year per West Virginia Code §11-5-3. Tangible Personal Property consists of, but not limited to, cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and trailers, utility trailers, ATV’s, etc. You will need to report any personal property owned on July 1 of the current year. Personal property forms are sent out from the Assessor’s office every July, if you do not receive a form, then you are not in our system and will need to contact this office for information. You will need a personal property receipt to obtain a vehicle license. If you are a resident of another state moving into West Virginia, you have 30 days to transfer title to get WV plates. |
